Bio:
Based just outside of Birmingham, Alabama, Floodgate, has been ministering to people around the southeastern United States since 1998. Their music is a mature brand of Rock which rides solidly upon the vocal eloquence of Scott Smith and Jason Flebotte. Floodgate uses two lead vocalists, which gives each song a unique sound. Being from the South, the music inherits a slight southern flavor that is evident from the vocals to the guitars. Their songs use Biblically based lyrics that inspire and challenge Christians, and share the good news of Jesus Christ to non-Christians, as well. Their songs include driving rock, moving ballads, as well as acoustic praise and worship songs. Floodgate provides quality Christian ministry and entertainment that reaches the hearts of all who will hear. Under the production prowess of veteran rocker Marc Phillips (founder of MCA recording artist, Hotel, in 1979), Floodgate released their first CD, entitled "Are You Ready?" in May of 2002. With the release of "Are You Ready", Floodgate garnered the attention from Alabama's largest Christian radio station, WDJC 93.7FM, who named the band their local artist of the month for May of 2002. Their power worship ballad, "More Love", received significant airplay and still resides in their "praise and worship" rotation. Floodgate's sophmore CD, "Hero", is also produced by Marc Phillips and was released in June of 2004. This CD is vastly different from their debut CD, with a more driving sound and deeper lyrics. Two tracks on the CD have already received airplay at several radio stations. Floodgate spends their weekends around the southeastern United States, performing at churches, youth retreats, christian concerts, and outdoor music festivals and has shared the stage with such signed artists as Skillet, David Crowder Band, Salvador, Todd Agnew, Jeff Deyo, and Big Daddy Weave.

Eagle Commitment
Eagles move from a process of courtship to commitment. The female eagle flies high into the sky, and the male eagle chases her. Suddenly she turns over on her back in midair and sticks her talons up. He moves over her and locks talons with her while they fall toward earth. He is totally committed. He would rather die then let her go. They are saying I love you, and I will never let you go. I am with you weather your rising or falling, through illness or health, through good days or rough ones, through mistakes, through trials, till death do us part. These eagles then mate for life.
Proverbs 30:18-19 The way of the eagle is too wonderful to understand. Are we as Christians willing to lock talons with others? The bible gives us numerous examples of others totally committed, locking talons. The story of Ruth locking talons with Naomi is a good example set for us. David and Jonathon is another great example. God with Noah and the good Samaritan with a stranger are a couple of other great examples of locking on.
But what about the most important pair… what about your commitment, your relationship with Christ?
We need to be asking ourselves:
Are my talons locked on with Christ?
Am I committed to Christ and to others, to hold on no matter what the outcome, no matter what the cost?
Would I be willing to lock on to a friend, or even a stranger weather they are rising or falling?
Would I be willing to die for another by not letting go?
